Programs - 4-H Youth Development

> 4-H Youth Development

4-H continues to be a successful and highly supported youth program in Putnam County. There are currently around 2500 4-H members in 105 clubs in the county including a Home School Club. 4-H is open to all 4th - 12th grade students. 4-H is more than just "cows and cooking." By participating in 4-H activities, 4-H'ers gain knowledge and skills related to their projects as well as leadership and communication skills to benefit them in their adult life.
 
> 4-H Horse Project Group

The 4-H Horse Project Group consists of 4-H members and their parents who are interested in horses. The group meets on a monthly basis and actively participates in Horse Bowl, Hippology and Judging contests. The group also hosts the Putnam County Horse Show each spring and participates in region, state and southern regional horse shows.
 
> Judging Teams

Juding Teams are open to any 4-H'er in grades 6 - 12. Judging Teams teach 4-H members decision making skills and communication skills while exposing them to various careers and colleges. There are currently 10 judging areas available to 4-H'ers.
