Pesticide Applicator Certification

Information on commercial applicators rules , regulations and forms for ordering study information are available at the county office. Certification or re-certification of private applicators can be accomplished at the local office.

Master Gardener and Urban Horticulture

The Putnam County Master Gardener Program is an educational program designed to help better serve the urban audience. It is available to anyone interested in any phase of urban horticulture regardless of experience. The course begins in mid-January and runs for 12 consecutive weeks with a variety of classes ranging from urban forestry to gardening and lawn care. After completing the course students then return approximately 36 hours of volunteer work to the community in order to be certified as a Master Gardener. Cost of the 12 week course is $75.

Distance Diagnostics

We are able to view, photograph and e-mail many of the fungi, insect and viral pathogens directly to our labs in Nashville for identification.
